In coaching, we look at all aspects of your life (your career, relationships, finances, spirituality, growth, fun, etc.). Let’s dig into one aspect, nutrition, specifically, Eating Real Food!
There are so many reasons to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables every day. Let me highlight a few:
Protect Your Health
Fruits and vegetables are packed with essential vitamins, minerals, fiber, and disease-fighting phytochemicals. Because of this, eating plenty of fruits and vegetables every day can strengthen your immune system and help reduce your risk of:
- Heart disease
- High blood pressure
- Type II diabetes
- Obesity
- Osteoperosis
Being low in calories and high in fiber, fruits and vegetables can help you control your weight. By eating more fruits and vegetables and fewer high-calorie foods, you’ll find it much easier to control your weight.
Busy lives require food that’s nutritious, energizing, and easy to eat on-the-go, like fresh fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables are a natural source of energy and give the body many nutrients you need to keep going. Did you know that a medium-sized apple has about 90 calories. The apple is packed with phytonutrients and fiber! I like to call it Healthy Fast Food.
When we eat better, we feel better! Be your own experiment… try different foods for lunch, and see how you feel in the afternoon. Pay attention to what energy you get from a salad, vs. how you feel if you had a burger and fries! Start connecting the dots between what you eat and how you feel!
